One hundred years ago this year Cunard Line introduced its first true ‘Floating Palaces‘, express transatlantic liners with sumptuous interiors designed to resemble grand country houses, with food and service standards to match. They were Lusitania and Mauretania – magnificent ships on which passengers could almost forget they were at sea.
The veteran trio joins Captain Paul Wright, whose appointment as Master of Queen Victoria was announced in October 2006.
Cunard’s new liner, Queen Victoria, has successfully completed her sea trials. She is seen on the image being put through he paces in her first pictures at sea.
Cunard Line is delighted to announce that Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, will attend a ceremony in Southampton on 10th December 2007, to mark the introduction of Cunard’s new 90,000-ton liner Queen Victoria.
